“Why the name Havana?”
Surely for the power of the word, which immediately caught our attention, but above all to pay homage to Ernest Hemingway, the leitmotif of our culinary journey.
Famous American writer, Hemingway lived for thirty years in Havana, the Cuban capital he loved so much, and for the rest of his life all over the world, including in Friuli Venezia Giulia and in Veneto. Here, he arrived for the first time as a soldier and returned there even after the war. Lover of Italian cuisine and wine, of our lands and of the people who populated them, today his writings leaves us an indelible memory of the Venetian years, transforming the emotions aroused into beautiful written words.
Just as Hemingway was able to pay homage to the Veneto region in the mid-twentieth century, so today, in our own small way, we return the favor by keeping his memory, travels and work alive.
Inside the restaurant, in a context of stones and bricks, there are some giant posters of the writer hanging on the walls: to remind the customer who already knows us from where the idea of Havana was born, but above all for the new guests to raise a question as spontaneous as expected: “Why the name Havana?”
Dear guests, glad to tell you about it!
