Havana is a restaurant, pizzeria, BBQ, American and cocktail bar. We are located in a former farm building, built from brick and stone with tiled floors and surrounded by trees. A tranquil location, just a few minutes from the beach, on the road that leads to Bibione Pineda. You can spend a pleasant evening inside or outside in the large garden. Our cuisine is based primarily on the principle of quality. You can have grilled meat or exquisite pizzas while listening to music. You can stop for an informal work meeting, taste our patisserie and sip a drink. Above all Havana is a place that can surprise. The adjacent car-park, is convenient and spacious, and there aren’t any mosquitoes: special organic treatments keep them away!
Havana tastefully mixes styles, colours and inspirations. Where possible we have restored the oldest part of the building which was constructed in the early 1950s, for instance we have kept the original tiled floor, and we have introduced some carefully chosen contemporary design pieces from Italy and abroad amongst the original features. The result is a tasteful venue, elegant without exaggeration, that puts you at your ease. The atmosphere is easy-going, both indoors as well as in the garden, where you can eat or relax on the colourful and comfortable sofas under the gazebos while listening to music.
Havana is special because there isn’t another place that is as big and that offers as much, surrounded by nature and just a few steps from the centre of Bibione. It is on the edge of one of the largest green spaces in Bibione: Valgrande. To see this extraordinary place we organise guided walks and horse and buggy rides for children. We can take you to discover footpaths, that during the Summer are perfumed with mint and holm oaks (some of which are over 100 years old) and the oldest archaeological artefacts of Bibione: mosaics and parts of a wall of a 3rd century (or older) seaside villa. Unbelievably all just a few steps from the lively beach at Bibione. During the walks you will be amazed at how special Valgrande is!
In our mind Havana mixes colours, sun, music and “joie de vivre”. For us the name evokes Ernest Hemingway, who stayed in this area. He arrived as a soldier and returned after the war to Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. He loved Italian food and wine. He visited many times and had many friends and loves and mentioned them in his books. He left an indelible mark. The surrounding area isn’t lacking in annual events dedicated to him, from meetings to literary prizes, especially during the Summer months.
